No matter where you are in your retirement journey, there will always be questions. Who better to provide perspective than someone who has been in your shoes? "Real People, Real Stories" chronicles the inspiring experiences that our very own residents and staff faced during their journeys to the Isle at Cedar Ridge. You'd be surprised at the similarities of how we relate. Meet Laneva, for example…
Special bonds are made at the Isle at Cedar Ridge, and for Laneva, it’s no different. One of the ways Laneva has been able to create so many friendships, is from all the activities she has participated in. One of her favorite ways to stay active is the live entertainment that comes every week, and enjoying it with her fellow residents who say she “dresses like a queen.” Laneva feels right at home, saying “I love everyone here, and they love me.”

When Jack first began his journey to Assisted Living, one of his biggest concerns was improving his health and medication management. This worry did not last long, though, stating “I feel well taken care of 24 hours a day and feel confident about my medication.” In his free time, Jack enjoys going on the frequently scheduled outings or simply spending time with his friends in the community. Down the road, Jacks wife plans to move in with him to a two-bedroom apartment. Jack wants others to know that the Isle at Cedar Ridge is “a very positive place.”

Kay became a resident at the Isle at Cedar Ridge 5 years ago to be closer to her children. While being closer to family has been a blessing, Kay didn’t realize that she was joining our family as well. Her experience was “better than [she] had hoped” because all the mundane chores were taken care of. This gave her more time to spend with the people that mattered most, as well as create some lifelong friendships in the process.

Bobbie is a resident of ours who moved in about 6 years ago. Bobbie remembers being nervous about the move, and joining a community with new people. Little did she know that all the new faces would quickly become the very thing she loves most about the Isle at Cedar Ridge! Her favorite way to spend time now is “getting to know other people” and encourages anyone who joins the community to “get out of your room and get active/social.”

Carol moved from independent living to our community 7 months ago and has “found the staff to be wonderful.” One of the people she connected with most is one of our nurses on staff, Becky, because of how happy and positive she is. Becky and the rest of the staff also make Carol feel safer in doing daily things, such as getting in and out of the shower without fear of falling.
